Elliot turned half a year old on the 20th. i can't believe how quickly the time went by. (even though the days themselves often feel as if they're dragging by and won't ever end!)

Born 9:18 am after 48 hours mostly unmedicated labour. I pushed all 8lbs 12 oz & 20.25 inches of him for 3 hours! As of March 20, he is 18 lbs 12 oz and 27.5 inches (but i think the dr messed up that one, as he seems much longer!)

He's a rolling machine! and he's so determined to crawl. once he figures out the mechanics of it, there will be no stopping him!! He can sit up on his own for longer and longer periods. He still slopes to the side and will tip occaisonally, but he' s getting better.

He's officially on solid foods now, too. After a week of rice cereal, a week oatmeal and a week of barley cereal (made him backed up and he didn't poo for a week.), we jumped into veggies!

He LOVES prunes, sweet potato & squash (and of the cereals, he prefers oatmeal, so he still gets that.) He's not so sure about peas, but he eats them. He's not wild about avocado (makes some fun faces!) but he does eat a bit. He does enjoy banana, but only if it's really ripe. Otherwise, he makes his avocado face. Such a little monkey!

My Big Day

Today, mommy and daddy took me out to brunch at a hotel downtown. there was so much food! mommy said "to hell with cereal", so i got mashed up banana for the first time. yummy!

then we asked nicely if we could go swimming in their pool. they said yes!!! the water was cooler than the bathwater i'm used to, but it was fun. daddy likes to swim, too! mommy got to go in the hot tub. she said she really liked that part. then mommy and daddy took turns bouncing me in the water and blowing in my face and dunking me under! i sputtered a bit, but i think i'm ok with the experience.

then i got to have a shower with mommy. that was pretty cool. i tried to put my face in it, but she wouldn't let me. then, my favourite part - i got to have some milk and a well earned nap!
