ok.
I dreamed last night that Jay and I were making out in my room in the house I grew up in. We were also babysitting Elliot, who was my little brother. (dream logic) We started to have sex but realized he was watching us, so we stopped and I went for a walk to cool down.
I found a camera abandoned in the grass and picked it up and started looking through the pics. It was from a guy's 30th birthday party, which had been celebrated in the house the night before. There were naked pictures of the guy on there, and pictures of him posing with a woman, and the birthday cake.
I went into the kitchen and found our friends eating the leftover birthday cake. Jay came downstairs and I showed him the camera. Someone found a pile of baby pictures and we were looking through those - it was the guy when he was a baby and there was a picture that was almost identical to one of my own baby pictures. I commented that we had the same type of clothes on and toys around us, but then realized it was because we were born really close to each other and that was the style back then.
We found out that the party-goers from the night before, including the guy and his girlfriend from the pictures, were missing and the police were searching the lake for them.
I had some birthday cake.
Then Elliot wasn't feeling good, so we gave him some infant tylenol that was on the counter - it belonged to the little boy who was also missing along with the party-goers. (Now Elliot was my son again, and the missing people were a husband and wife and their kids and some friends from the party)
We went to the pharmacy to fill a prescription for children's tylenol 3 for Elliot so we could stop using the other stuff.
I went to the bathroom and saw a long whitish slimy thing in my underwear. It moved. It was a huge worm with a sucker mouth. And it had come out of me!!! I was freaking out, but just wrapped it up in paper to preserve it and didn't tell anyone.
We went back to the street and met up with the police who told us that the family had been discovered - they were all dead, eaten by some sort of internal parasite. Somehow they knew it had come from the cake. I started to panic - I had eaten it, along with all my friends, too.
But it turned out we were ok because none of us had eaten any sugar/dairy/wheat up for several weeks up until that day (thanks, candida diet!) the worm couldn't find any sustenance in our bodies and just passed on through.
Then it was a year later and we were all meeting up again - a reunion of sorts - and we were comparing the length of our worms by drawing pictures of them in the dust on the car frame when we stopped at a gas station. I went to the bathroom and was sure there would be another worm, but there wasn't, so I went back out to the car and we all drove away.
Then I woke up and had to nurse Felix again.

Felix nursed something like 14 times in a 10 hour span last night. I got one 2-hour stretch of sleep, so he was reallllly cluster nursing all night long.
I think I'm empty now.
His soother won't cut it, only boobs. My best guesses are that it's because his teeth hurt and the soother hurts his gums, or that my period is about to show so my supply plummeted and he kept nursing to rev it up.

I started going to a Stroller Strides fitness class last week. I arrived a few minutes late yesterday and my friend K, who is in the class too, frantically whispers "Did you get the email?"
Nope.
CBC Television was there to film our class. Not a biggie, but I sure am glad I made time for a shower in the 20 minutes I had before I ran out the door.
So, they filmed us from all sorts of angles - butt shots as we pushed the strollers around the mall, butt and front and overheard shots as we used the resistance bands and did push ups int he center court. They spent a lot of time filming K's little girl as she cooed and complained in the stroller.
After the class, they asked for volunteers to be interviewed on camera. Of course I did it, because I'm a media freak. I kept thinking how much Jay's grandparents will love to see this, whenever it airs.
So I smiled for the camera and introduced myself and Felix and talked about why I like the class and why I go to it.
Fun times. It's supposed to air sometime in March.

YAY for Felix. His first razor-sharp little toofie broke through this morning.
He's feeling better, too... no fever yet today and he's back on his old 30-minute nap thing, getting an average of 2 hours total naps all day. The last few days had me worried - he only had 2-3 hours awake in each 24 hour period.

Felix had crappy naps yesterday. His cold/congestion was really bad. He finally passed out and slept for 3 hours in my arms last night, but when he woke around 10, his breathing was really rough. He was really sucking in his chest/neck trying to get air, so off we went to the ER. Got their around 11, the intake nurses were wonderful. He had a rectal temp of 39.8 (103.6). So they gave him a tylenol suppository (he was too congested to keep it down orally)
The tylenol brought his temp down while we waited. They did chest x-rays and tested his urine. Finally, around 2 am they determined everything was clear and sent us home. He has a diagnosis of bronchiolitis and we're to monitor his fever/eating/sleeping and if anything worsens - back we go.
Ugh.
So, after that fun night, we get up early to take Elliot to his dentist appointment (had the pits on his front teeth filled in - I'm so proud of how well he did!) and I also took him to the doctor because he's so clingy and sounds kinda delirious on a daily basis now. He has a DOUBLE ear infection. Less than 2 weeks ago, he was on antibiotics for a small infection in his left ear. Left is bad now but right is even worse. He's on different abx now. Hopefully it clears stuff up for him. I was so out of it due to lack of sleep last night that I forgot to get the dr to listen to his chest and comment on all the coughing (I did tell the dr about the coughing, but he checked the ears and that's as far as we got.)
So, Felix was asleep this whole time. He nursed at 7am, threw up a chunk of it and a lot of mucous, fell back to sleep until almost 8:30, cried through a diaper change then fell asleep instantly in the Ergo when we left for the dentist a few minutes later. He slept until 12. He nursed. I went to change him - the diaper was bone dry. I nursed him again and called the ER again as they told me last night if he started sleeping more than usual or not eating/etc to bring him back in. They did fuck all for me over the phone and wouldn't advise me on what to do. I could tell he had a fever but didn't know how high since we were at Jay's office. I went and bought some infant Motrin, drugged him and he fell asleep instantly at 1 when we loaded up and headed home. Since Elliot fell asleep in the stroller, I kept walking until 2:30 when he woke up. Felix woke shortly after that. I just changed an ok wet diaper with a yucky thick poop in it. Gonna nurse him again in a minute. Took his temp again and he's fine (I knew that, but wanted to check anyway)
So, here we sit. One child on either side of me, both hacking and coughing and snotting and fussing. My poor babies!

I joined eHrrmony. The dating site. Just for fun. I'm going to tell Jay all about it tonight. I was seduced by their commercials saying how they could pinpoint your personality and match you up. (Ok, I admit, my romantic dream is that Jay would join up too and we'd be matched... are you puking yet?)
I do not plant to contact/answer any potential matches. I'm just curious. Does this make me a bad person? I will be deleting my profile there as soon as they present me with any matches, and I'm only doing the free trial thingy - I don't think I could contact anyone if if I wanted to unless I paid them first. Which I won't.
Am I crazy? Talk about a time waster - I really should be doing dishes and changing diapers and preparing supper for tonight since I have a tax seminar and have to leave early.
~~~
Jay's exact words "I'm right here!", all indignant, but joking. I told him he should join up and we could see if were matched. And then he said "But what if we didn't get matched?" Jerk. Of course we would! He thinks it's a silly thing I did and he's not mad or offended at all. (I would have been surprised if he was.)
21st
I closed the account - one of my 'matches' requested a photo and wanted to initiate communications. Whoops!
Took Elliot in for a standard dental cleaning this morning. He did well, despite the dental hygienist not having the best way of relating to kids. (Which is doubly odd, since she has a little boy about Elliot's age and works in a family dental practice!) She lectured me about cleaning Elliot's teeth extra well - those pits on his front teeth attract everything, and his molars are apparently deeper than average and he's got a lot of build up already. (I was a bit embarrassed to see the huge piece of raisin stuck in there when she started cleaning.)
We were about to leave when she had second thoughts about those pits and made us wait to see the dentist. He came in and was SOOOO good with Elliot. I love this man. He's ancient and I wouldn't be surprised if he's about to retire, but it will be a sad day indeed when he's no longer there.
He looked at the pits and said that they've worsened. (Look the same to me, but meh...) So now we have to have them scraped and filled. The good news is that it will only take a few minutes to do and he shouldn't need freezing or sedation or anything. Bad news is that he will need to be still for about 30 seconds for the stuff to dry, and those teeth have to stay perfectly dry for about 3 minutes - from initial scraping to application. And the so-so news is that it will need to be repeated every 6-8 months or so.
And we have a $25 paste to use on his teeth in the meantime. Apparently, his teeth are lacking in calcium, which is making them break down. I don't know how this is suddenly a concern. The saw the pits initially when he was 13 months old (they formed at 10 months) and then they saw him again 6 months ago.) This paste will acts as a mini sealant and it will add calcium to the spot.
I need way to encourage Elliot's independence...
They told me at daycare this morning that they are considering moving him into the Toddler Senior room, even though he's not potty trained, because he's getting bored in the junior room and that's what they believe is contributing to his aggression and lashing out, especially with the younger kids. He's among the oldest kids in his current class. He's been there since early September, the classes were blended until November.
So, I need to work with him on some things. (Not a prerequisite to getting in the class, just stuff I feel it's time for him to start learning and stuff that will help with the transition). Stuff like putting on/taking off his own coat, shoes, boots and/or snowpants. Or showing an interest in dressing/undressing himself. Right now, he shows almost no interest in doing it on his own. Not even curiosity. He just says "No I can't do it. You do it." when asked... or he runs and hides.
Of course, the potty training would be a great one to have underway. He knows the basics, but he's stubborn. If we're out shopping, he'll often say "I want to go pee in the bathroom." So we go, get everything off and then he'll say "NO! Maybe tomorrow." Often, we'll only get as far as the bathroom before he says that. I want to encourage it, but usually I know it's just going to be a big pain and he's going to balk at it anyway, so I distract him.
At home, if I ask him if he wants to sit on the potty (or toilet) or bring him to it or it to him, he gets defiant. He's peed on it a few times, but shows no desire to continue. I think I might make a big deal of getting him big boy underwear and spend a day letting him have accidents.
He's great at self-play and feeding himself (they don't even use sippy's at school - it's all open top cups. I know we should use them more at home.) I will be making more a point of getting him to dress/undress himself. Make it a game or something - no pressure. Just see what I can get him interested in doing...
I was giving Felix his bath last night. Jay went to reheat his supper and called up to ask me why there was a container of blend cream in the microwave.
???????????
When I heated up my lunch and then reheated my coffee and added the cream to it, I guess I put it away in the microwave instead of the fridge. I don't even have the vaguest memory of doing it.
After the bath, I came downstairs and discovered that the oven was still on. I'd forgotten to turn it off after taking supper out 1.5 hours earlier. At least with that one, I can remember taking the supper out and moving on to the next thing without turning off the over. Silly me.
This morning I filled the coffee maker with water, put in the filter then went to the fridge for the coffee. And got distracted rearranging things in there so there was a better bit. Then closed the fridge and wondered why i even looked in there in the first place.
I think I need more sleep.
