My appointments will be every 2 weeks now... I'll try not to bore you with details each time, but since this is the first appt since my hospital stay....
We're going with 33 weeks as my date for now. Fundal height is measuring 34 weeks. Boo is doing great, I'm doing great. My weight is holding steady at 178. Blood pressure fine. Nothing exciting to report! She'll do the GBS swab at my next appointment.
The really good news is that Boo probably weighs close to 5 lbs by now (if the u/s was accurate and providing Boo is gaining the 'norm' of 1/2 lb per week)... and the NICU won't release babes until they are at least 5.5 lbs. So, if Boo is born early, providing s/he is healthy, there might not be a NICU stay after all!
I got my medical certificate so I can draw sick leave until my maternity benefits kick in once Boo arrives. Talked about staying on this modified bed rest until 36 weeks, but she agrees that after 34 weeks I can start to relax a bit.
I needed to have 600 hours to qualify for mat leave. When I got my last pay from job #2, I calculated that I still needed about 100 hours. But I wasn't worried because I had at least 3 weeks of full time work left at job #1. So when I stopped working 2 weeks shy of my goal, I was panicking. But when I got my record of employment from job #1, I discovered I somehow pulled in a total of 727 hours between both places since January. Not sure how I did it, but whew!!!!
So I qualify for up to 15 weeks of paid sick leave (payable at 55% of my weekly earnings, so not very much) and then I get my full mat leave!!! Wahooooo!!!! Such a relief!! Still waiting for the sick leave to kick in - I probably won't see any money until the end of June, and by that time, with my luck, Boo will be here. Thank god Jay is working so we can pay our bills, buy groceries and pay for the nanny to be here. But his salary only just covers all that stuff, so things are tight.

So, today I started with a sharp pain in my side. It felt like a stitch - my guess is trapped gas or twisted ligaments. It went away when I laid down on a hot pack. It did come back a few times, but never as bad or for as long.
Boo has been super active lately, and regularly feels like he/she is trying to push out through my side, a la Frighteners. The pain from the pushing actually woke me up last night!
I've had multiple bowel movements today. I hope this is just my body regulating itself after all those antibiotics and not things clearing out in preparation for labour. Oh, and my hemorrhoid is sprouting friends. Yay!
I've been having dizzy spells. They don't last long, but they seem to pop up out of no where. Add to this heart palpitations, and I'm not safe on stairs by myself!
After bragging to another prego friend earlier this week that I've been really lucky to not have heartburn this time around, I've had it for the last 3 days.
Very tired. I'm napping each day and really not being that active when I'm awake... but I'm still exhausted.
I haven't had any leg cramps yet (knocks on wood)... but my calf muscles have been twitching for weeks now. I'm taking my cal/mag before bed and stretching... but I'm worried that my luck might be running out!
My hips/upper thighs have been going numb in the night. I usually rotisserie myself all night long - sleep on one side until the pain gets too bad then rotate. I can keep this up until about 5am, but then it doesn't matter how I sleep, everything hurts.

I'm HOME!!!!!!! They discharged me this morning, after another u/s that showed plenty of liquid. The dr even said that I could gush again and probably still have enough left over!!!
So I'm on pelvic rest - no sex, but I'm allowed to move around. I'm not going to do much walking until after 34 weeks, though, just to give Boo the best possible chance. it's a bit nerve wracking to feel like I'm a loaded canon, but if all of the drs aren't concerned, then I should be reassured too, right?? I'll definitely be taking it easy...

My water broke just before 6pm on Wednesday the 14th. I was out walking with a friend. We went to her house, she kept Elliot and her hubby drove me to the hospital. There was blood mixed with the fluid, so I didn't want to take any chances. I was really counting on them telling me I peed myself or had a bladder infection... but no. The ferning was unmistakable and it was my water. The admitted me and hooked me up to an IV. I had a steroid shot.
Things have been fine, though... no more leaking, Boo is looking wonderful - u/s on Thursday showed lots of fluid still left and Boo is measuring 31 weeks. (3lbs 11 oz, too!) No contractions or cramping or signs of infection, so they *might* actually release me - still on strict bedrest - later this week if nothing else changes.
The drs and nurses are all starting to think it resealed. This is such a huge relief!!!!!! No one seemed to be able to tell where the leak came from, though - I asked if the u/s showed anything high or low but either they didn't understand what I was asking or they didn't check or it wasn't obvious. One thing my nurse mentioned this morning is that sometimes in situations like this, they like to induce between 36-37 weeks. Not sure why, but I'm of the mind that I want this baby to bake as long as possible!!!!!
I'm home from the hospital on a daypass right now. It's wonderful. I'm headed back in within a few minutes. I've been cramping a bit, with some lower back and upper thigh pain that makes me nervous... hopefully it's just because I've been moving around a bit more today than I have over the last few days. Not feeling any leaking, but there is a certain wetness. Ugh. Please keep us in your thoughts!!!
It was awesome to be home today. Jay bought a wheelchair at a yard sale last year. I teased him about it. But he took me around the block in it today, which was nice.

I've been having cramps off and on today. I'm sure it's just gas and/or stretching related, but someone on another board told another mom-to-be (who's as far along as me) that she really should go get checked asap because when it happened to her it was preterm labour.
And so now that's in the back of my mind.
I feel fine, otherwise. Well, other than exhaustion and Boo being in a really bad position and my ribs hurt.

Elliot was sick with nasty head cold a few weeks ago. For a whole week, he only nursed once, because he couldn't breathe. He started demanding bottles. Once he could breathe again, he had a marathon nursing session (20 minutes - abnormally long for him, he's usually done in 3-4 minutes) and then didn't ask for it again for several more days. We're averaging nursing once a week now. Sometimes he'll ask for it when I get home from work, but when tell him he can have it before bed, just to see if he *really* wants it, he's ok with that and then, come bedtime, he doesn't want it and actually says 'no' when I ask.
So, I think we're weaned. Or just about weaned. Or taking a break. Or whatever!
Although, he likes to pull up my shirt to kiss & hug Boo, and the other day he pulled it way up and grabbed my boob and said "milk". I told him that the baby was going to drink the milk, too. He looked a bit concerned, I could see his little brain figuring that one out. Luckily, since he's only been nursing on the left side for the last year, I had a solution - I pointed to his side and said "Elliot's milk" and then to the other side and said "Baby's milk." He seemed happy with that!
Due to the pregnancy and the nursing once per week thing, I have next to nothing left, but he does seem happy enough to "dry nurse", I guess now and then, I guess. I suppose this counts as weaned... it's certainly the longest he's gone without nursing. We'll see what happens when Boo arrives!!!

We think he's ok.
The nanny, called me at work in tears. Apparently, Elliot took a ride down our front steps in the stroller. Somehow, it didn't flip but it landed on it's side. He was strapped in, thank god. She says he's ok, no marks or sore spots and he only cried for a few minutes and was laughing soon after.
I'm leaving work asap today to get home to be with him. I made him an appointment with my chiro, who is really close by, just for a check over. I don't know what else to do.
I feel sick. She sounded miserable on the phone. I could hear him babbling in the back ground. She's putting him down for a nap now (and will monitor him through out) and I'm leaving here within the hour.

He's fine... it was just really scary. And me not being there sent me into hyper-panic mode. He might have a black eye tomorrow - there's bruise on his cheek which is actually a red knot next to his eye. No idea what he got it from, unless it was from one of the stroller straps. We have the BOB jogger, which is very well padded and he sits pretty deeply in it.
Chiro appointment was fine - she was glad I brought him in, especially since it's been 6 months since his last appointment, but she didn't find anything unusually tight or tender. N came with us to the appointment because she was so worried.
